9-year-old Benjamin Gilkey will always be remembered for his joyfulness and his bravery. The Benjamin Gilkey Fund for Innovative Pediatric Cancer Research honors his spirit, as it fuels the passions of physicians and researchers within the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Institute who are dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for childhood cancer.

Brothers Jerrick, 5, and Evian, 2, were diagnosed with the same rare, life-threatening genetic immunodeficiency. They received bone marrow transplants at Johns Hopkins All Children’s, and are now back to being healthy, energetic kids. The physicians who have treated them are also researching the disease to continue to advance treatments for future patients.
