9-year-old Benjamin Gilkey will always be remembered for his joyfulness and his bravery. The Benjamin Gilkey Fund for Innovative Pediatric Cancer Research honors his spirit, as it fuels the passions of physicians and researchers within the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Institute who are dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for childhood cancer.

Amalia, 9, battled cancer most of her young life, until a new therapy began to change her odds. Johns Hopkins All Children’s was the first certified pediatric treatment center in Florida to offer CAR-T therapy, and Amalia was the first patient.
