Tamara New, M.D., knew she wanted to be a doctor since the age of 3, and became inspired to specialize in sickle cell disease during her residency. Dr. New, who recently joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s as director of the sickle cell disease program, talks about what drew her to medicine and how she first had the opportunity to connect with patients with sickle cell.
