Celebrating New Residents on Match Day 2023

Match Day is one of the most important days for graduating medical students. Across the country and the world, these students learn where they will spend the next years to continue their training.

Though many medical students applied to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, only a dozen per year secure a space in the residency program. On Friday, the National Resident Matching Program announced who will join the next class of residents in July 2023.

“Match Day is a celebration to welcome new residents as well as recognize the achievements of our current residents. Each match represents another milestone for our institution along our journey toward a comprehensive pediatric academic health care system,” says Akshata Hopkins, M.D., FAAP, F.H.M., program director of the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Pediatric Residency Program.

  • Sarah Masten, M.D., University of Florida College of Medicine
  • Emma Milne, M.D., University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine
  • Shannon Mooney, D.O., Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Emily Pabst, M.D., University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine
  • Austin Sellers, D.O., Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine

Liz Cunningham, M.D., and Amanda Seibert, M.D. will serve as chief residents for the 2023-2024 academic year and Izzy Hendrickson, M.D., and Leighton Reed, M.D., for our 2024-2025 academic year.

In addition to new residents, Johns Hopkins All Children’s celebrated fellows who will be arriving in July as well as offering congratulations to graduating residents who will be continuing their studies as fellows elsewhere.
