Cindy Brown, R.N., in the Infusion Center, is the DAISY Award recipient. She was nominated for this honor by a parent who wrote:
“Cindy has been giving our daughter her infusions for six years. She is kind, patient, caring, skilled and thoughtful. She shows excellent judgment, keeps our daughter calm and has a genuine interest in our family’s well-being. In the early days of our daughter’s treatment, the infusions were traumatic but Nurse Cindy helped make the procedure so much better. We are thankful for Cindy and know we’re in good hands with each visit to All Children’s.”
Cindy’s manager added:
“Cindy, otherwise known affectionately by her team members as the “law,” has been with the hospital for over 30 years and with the infusion center for the last 10 years. Cindy’s extensive knowledge and experience helps our patients and families feel at ease when coming in for treatments. She works to help our new team members acclimate to the outpatient setting and has been instrumental in many infusion-based initiates such as an infusion acuity model, process flow changes and oversight of our staffing schedules. We are so happy that Cindy is being recognized for all that she does for our patients, families and the team. This is a well-deserved award!”
Congratulations, Cindy, and thank you for your commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
