Heidi Santiago, R.N., clinical nurse in the CCDH unit, is the DAISY Award recipient. She was nominated for this honor by a parent who wrote:
“My daughter was in the hospital for seven months. When times were stressful Heidi was a breath of fresh air. She always went above and beyond, and really listened to my concerns. Rather than telling me everything would be okay, Heidi provided me with the tools and confidence I needed. She is a blessing and I am so thankful my daughter was fortunate enough to have Heidi by her side.”
Heidi’s manager added:
“During Heidi’s tenure, she has proven to be a strength on this team. She has the willingness to learn in any situation, advocates for our newest staff members as an admired preceptor, and has a positive attitude and sense of humor that promotes inclusion.”
Congratulations, Heidi, and thank you for your commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
