Katie Bryant, nursing professional development specialist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, is the DAISY Nurse Leader Award recipient. She was nominated for this honor by a colleague who wrote:

“Katie creates a challenging, exciting and welcoming environment. My experience as a preceptee was full of encouragement and constructive criticism. Katie spent hours providing educational materials and live demonstrations to ensure my success in the patient care setting. Without her guidance and wealth of knowledge I wouldn’t feel as prepared and confident as I do now. Her unique perspective and approach to nursing made us the nurses we are today.”

Katie’s manager added:

“Katie has been with All Children’s since 2013. She is an exceptional NICU leader and always prioritizes our employees. Whether it’s checking on everyone during a challenging day or getting to know our newest members during orientation – she makes sure to make her rounds. Katie goes above and beyond, and works in whatever capacity is needed. In her role as our education specialist, she collaborates and works with all members of the team to ensure we are providing quality education to our staff. She is known for being approachable and receptive to new and innovative ideas. The team trusts Katie and knows she has their best interest in mind. We are incredibly fortunate to have her on our team. She is a true asset to the NICU.”

Congratulations, Katie, and thank you for your commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
