Kelsie McCleary, R.N., a clinical nurse on the Pediatric Medicine Unit (8th floor), was honored with the DAISY Award for April 2018. She was nominated by a patient as well as by his family. Noting Kelsie’s patience and kind heart, the patient wrote:
“Kelsie is one of the best nurses to ever have. I had surgery about a night ago and she did everything I asked her when I needed help. She was always there for me.” His parent added, “Every time I asked Kelsie to do something for my son she was right on it. She is one of the best nurses I’ve met at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and I want to thank her for taking care of my son.”
Kelsie’s manager commented:
“Kelsie has been with Johns Hopkins All Children’s since August 2017 and is part of the hospital’s RN Nurse Residency Program’s Cohort 19. Kelsie is an invaluable member of the Pediatric Medicine Unit. She has a caring spirit and is dedicated to providing safe, quality care to each of her patients. She has received multiple nominations for the DAISY award, which shows how often she goes above and beyond for her patients.”
Congratulations, Kelsie, and thank you for your commitment to patient- and family-centered care at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital.
