Radek Hoffmann, R.N.
The DAISY Nurse Leader Award is a new quarterly honor that celebrates the contributions of nurse leaders as role models for compassion and exemplary care, for promoting an environment that supports trust, respect, collaboration and professional development, for their constant pursuit of the best patient outcomes, and for demonstrating the value of nursing within the organization.
Radek Hoffmann, R.N. clinical manager in the Emergency Center, is the first recipient of the Nurse Leader Award.
The Emergency Team wrote: “Radek exemplifies transformational leadership in his daily interactions with his team. He goes above and beyond his call of duty and has a profound amount of compassion for his profession, his staff and without a doubt, his patients and families. Radek is one of the most hardworking, caring and dedicated clinical managers you will meet. Our department is fortunate to have Radek as our fearless leader and we can’t thank him enough for the impact he has made on our team.”
A fellow team member added: “Radek joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s Emergency Center in August 2012 and was named the Clinical Manager in June of 2013. You can find him on the unit taking care of patients and easing the burden of a busy department. Radek is engaged and knows the needs of his team. Their voice, success and job satisfaction really matters to him. Radek encourages the team to think critically and look outside the box for solutions, making their department a better environment for patients, families and for themselves. From his work ethic to his compassion when working with patients and families, he is a true asset to this organization.”
