- Talk candidly with your child about potential injuries and make sure they are aware of the risks they face in each sport.
- Explain the importance to your child of proper warmup and hydrations throughout the game and discuss with the coach that this is part of the process.
- Coaches should also be well aware of any medical conditions your child faces, such as asthma.
- Make sure proper gear is worn at all times and know the risks and signs of concussion.
- Teach your child to speak up in the event of a non-visible injury.
