Sara Wise, R.N., a clinical nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), is our newest DAISY Award recipient. She was nominated for this honor by a parent who wrote:

"The amount of support that Sara showed us during our stay was overwhelming. Among the many attentive and amazing nurses we’ve had, she quickly rose to the top. Sara was there to listen and care for our entire family during a difficult and unknown time. Her experience reassured me that we were in the best of hands. She went above and beyond by being our biggest advocate, addressing my concerns and helping us navigate through the plan of care. NICU life is challenging and I don’t know where we would have been without her. I'm grateful to have known Sara."

Sara’s nursing leadership team added: "Sara is a vital asset to our unit. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, motivated for professional development and strives for excellence in all areas of her nursing practice. We are so proud of her and this well-deserved award."

Congratulations, Sara, and thank you for your commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
