Sarah Grantham, R.N., a clinical nurse in the PICU, is the DAISY Award recipient. She was nominated for this honor by a parent who wrote:
“It was our first trip to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and because of Sarah, we were so pleased with our experience. The compassion, care and empathy she had for our daughter made Sarah stand out. She brought comfort to our family and made a huge impact in our PICU stay. Sarah went above and beyond – quickly responding to situations, helping alleviate our anxiety as parents, and made sure to answer any questions or concerns from start to finish. Through it all she was nothing short of remarkable. Sarah is a wonderful person who deserves to be recognized and celebrated for her passion and leadership. She is the definition of a nursing role model and we appreciate all of the smiles she brought to our family.”
Sarah’s manager added:
“Sarah has been a nurse in the PICU since 2019 when she joined the R.N. Residency Program. She continuously demonstrates all of the strong qualities of an ICU nurse. Sarah is skilled, knowledgeable and always has a positive attitude. She is a hardworking team player who independently seeks new learning experiences. Sarah is often recognized by her colleagues, patients and families for her kind, compassionate spirit. Her professionalism and service excellence shines during every shift, even in the most challenging times. We are thankful to have Sarah on our team and proud that she is the recipient of this well-deserved award.”
Congratulations, Sarah, and thank you for your commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
