Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Exclusive Provider of Health Services at IMG Academy

St. Petersburg, Fla. – November 9, 2017 – Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital expands its reach to IMG Academy to help keep young student-athletes healthy. IMG Academy, a leader in education, training and professional development for young athletes, is leveraging the expertise of Johns Hopkins All Children’s to provide health services and address the unique medical needs of athletes at the IMG campus in Bradenton.

The Johns Hopkins All Children’s health services team onsite at IMG includes pediatric sports medicine specialists, nurses and physical therapists. The team can help with urgent or general medical care, sports injuries and proper medication distribution. Health experts on site can also provide consultation and transportation to Johns Hopkins All Children’s main campus in St. Petersburg for further evaluation or visits with one of the 300 pediatric sub-specialists.

“We know how difficult it can be to have a child on their own, far from home who experiences an illness or sports injury, so it was important for our team to be a part of the IMG family in order to provide exceptional care for these top student-athletes,” said Patrick Mularoni, M.D., Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital medical director of health services at IMG Academy. “As IMG helps these young individuals reach their full potential in and out of sports, we’re honored to provide top medical care to keep them on track for success.”

“Having Johns Hopkins All Children’s on site at our facility provides peace of mind for families, knowing that their child is receiving the highest level of medical care from the most advanced children’s hospital on Florida’s west coast,” said Chip McCarthy, co-managing director at IMG Academy.

While Johns Hopkins All Children’s began providing services early last fall, the team has already served more than 2,000 patients, and services will continue to expand this year. Young athletes at IMG now have access to additional services, including neuropsychology and psychology services.
