Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and US 103.5 FM Cares for Kids Radiothon Raises Record-breaking $406,488

St. Petersburg, Fla. – December 8, 2017 – In its 10th year, the US 103.5 FM Cares for Kids Radiothon raised a record-breaking $406,488 for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, the regional Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. During the two-day on-air event, supporters presented checks and kept the phone lines ringing as grateful patients and families shared their personal stories of care and healing. Money raised from the event benefits the treatment, research and education mission.
“For a decade now, we have been so very grateful for the generosity and support of this hospital during our annual Radiothon event,” said Jenine Rabin, executive vice president of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Foundation. “With the wonderful help of iHeartMedia and US 103.5 FM, we were able to share incredible stories from our patients, and raise funds which not only help prevent and cure childhood disease, but also allow us to invest in research for new discoveries and better therapies.”
“We are thrilled to once again be a part of the effort at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital for the US 103.5 FM Cares for Kids Radiothon,” said iHeartMedia Tampa President Sam Nein. The work and the services that the teams of professionals at Johns Hopkins All Children’s provide is nothing short of miraculous! The opportunity to support their efforts in a meaningful way is one that we are honored and very passionate about!”
Part of what made this year’s Radiothon such a success was a generous matching donation from former Tampa Bay Lightning player, Vinny Lecavalier. A long-time supporter of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Lecavalier pledged to match every donor dollar up to $200,000, substantially raising the total dollars raised for this year’s Radiothon.
