Interim Chief Financial Officer

Jeff Rooney is interim chief financial officer at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. He joined the hospital staff in 2019.

Rooney strategically leads and oversees the financial areas of the non-profit hospital, including financial reporting, revenue cycle, managed care, decision support, reimbursement, treasury, taxation, budgeting and forecasting.
He develops and presents financial performance and initiative updates to the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Foundation Boards of Trustees, committees and leadership and management councils.

Rooney has extensive experience in a range of academic and community health systems as a senior-level executive who has held interim and permanent finance leadership roles. He was most recently with Huron Consulting in Chicago, serving as interim chief financial officer for a private equity-backed micro-hospital startup company with operations in three states. Before that he served as senior vice president, financial operations for the regional health system Presence Health in Chicago.

Rooney is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives. He earned his M.B.A. in finance from Vanderbilt University and M.A. in English from Northwestern University.
