A child using the GetWellNetwork

The GetWellNetwork is an interactive system that offers an array of education, entertainment and Internet resources. The system is designed to improve patient satisfaction as well as clinical outcomes by engaging patients and their families directly at the bedside, resulting in them being more involved in their care. Using handheld devices such as a pillow speaker and wireless keyboard, patients interact with the system through their in-room television to access valuable patient education, communication, and entertainment tools. Patients in areas such as dialysis or infusion will access the system using touch-screen monitors located on swing arms at the bedside.

Features of the GetWellNetwork System include:

  • 160+ pediatric educational programs on topics such as asthma, cancer, diabetes, etc.
  • On-demand, kid-friendly movies and broadcast television
  • Filtered Internet Web browsing, instant messaging and email
  • Multiple gaming options, including classic arcade games and access to Internet gaming sites
  • Parental controls
