Biomedical Discovery Goals


  1. 3 Translational Medicine: Become a national leader in the development of multi-disciplinary, "bench to bedside/Community" discovery dedicated to the improvement of the health of children.
  2. 3.1 Create a world-class research portfolio, with initial efforts focused around Cancer/Blood Disorders, Cardiovascular, Asthma & Allergy/Immunology, Obesity, Neurodevelopment & Neurosciences.
  3. 3.2 Partner with Quality, Finance and other departments to create a Health Informatics Core to support all mission legs.
  4. 3.3 Develop a Molecular Determinants Core.
  5. 3.4 Leverage administrative, clinical and operational capabilities at JHM Baltimore, as well as local partners in this area, to enhance clinical trials and the overall support of research infrastructure.
  6. 3.5 Dedicate an appropriate amount of space to start and support the continued expansion of the research program.
  7. 3.6 Pursue intellectual property opportunities that stem from Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital and/or Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital's relationship with industry partners, JHU/Baltimore and other academic institutions.
  8. 3.7 Increase the involvement in research through education, mentoring and support of frontline staff through all levels of the organization to drive evidence-based practice.
