All Children’s Hospital joined the mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine as a member of its health system on April 1, 2011. All Children’s Hospital is the only U.S. hospital outside of the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. region to become a member of the Johns Hopkins Medicine Enterprise. All aspects of the patient care, education and research programs and activities at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida are academically integrated with Johns Hopkins Medicine.
The Office of Medical Education (OME) at All Children’s Hospital Johns Hopkins Medicine was chartered on December 1, 2011 and was immediately engaged in leading the development of the new All Children's Hospital Johns Hopkins Medicine Pediatric Residency Program in St. Petersburg.
In 2012, the new program completed a site evaluation which included a review of the program’s curricula, faculty and facilities. The Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) granted the program full accreditation in July of 2012.
Our first class of outstanding residents matriculated into the program on July 1, 2014.
Since opening, the OME office has worked to provide exceptional educational program for students, residents and fellows. Continued collaborative efforts for program building continue to be a central mission of our office and of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.
