Johns Hopkins Legacy

Johns Hopkins Medicine and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine are recognized worldwide for patient care, medical education, research and leadership. Our faculty individually and collectively possess a wealth of experience and expertise in basic, clinical and translational spheres of medicine. Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital is a fully integrated academic institution which translates into high quality academic training experiences where you will benefit from top-rated expertise in patient care, education and research.

Access to Johns Hopkins leadership

The faculty and resources of Johns Hopkins create great synergy for our new and innovative work in building the academic enterprise in Florida. Videoteleconferencing across campuses between St. Petersburg and Baltimore occurs regularly to enhance sharing of expertise by leaders, teachers, researchers and learners through discussions, conferences, lectures, seminars and grand rounds. There are numerous opportunities for involvement in research with formative mentorship. We are also forging a new frontier in individualized medicine with the development of a biorepository in St. Petersburg to further enhance the growth of the Johns Hopkins research mission. We also emphasize the educational mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine, and residents will teach and interact with students from Florida, across the United States and around the world who apply competitively to participate in our clinical and research experiences.

A wide variety of electives and rotations

Participants in the Johns Hopkins residency program will be provided opportunities to expand their horizons in patient care, education, and research through multiple elective rotations in a diversity of settings. Possibilities include our regional ambulatory care network sites, the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center on the Baltimore campus, and global and international medicine partnerships and affiliations with Johns Hopkins Medicine.
