Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is committed to helping families in our community and addressing the childhood obesity epidemic. Fit4Allkids was developed in 2004 by our team of pediatric specialists and has since then offered support and guidance to thousands of families in the Tampa Bay area.
Fit4Allkids is more than just weight management. Our experts see the value and importance of prevention for children of all ages. We strive to provide our families with the latest information on nutrition, fitness, mental health and the most current trends. With ongoing support from the community and several partners, Fit4Allkids family programs are offered throughout the year.
In addition to our family intervention efforts, we also offer resources for teens through community and school-based programming. Our team even provides tools for other health care providers to identify and support weight management for teens. These resources are made possible through support from Kohl's Cares.
Since cooking and food are such a big hit with the kids we decided to take this concept to the students and provide some hands-on learning at aftercare centers and summer camps. Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital partners with a variety of local camps and afterschool programs to offer students the opportunity to learn about healthy choices and making great tasting recipes the whole family will enjoy. The Allkids in the Kitchen student enrichment program serves hundreds of kids every year introducing them to new foods and nutrition concepts. Hey, some even learn to love veggies. Now that is progress!
