Car Seats

We are now offering virtual car seat checks for families who have their own car seats and social distancing educational distribution sessions for families who are unable to obtain a car seat at a retail price. To schedule either option please call 727-767-7835 and leave a message. A member of our team will contact you for scheduling. Please note, the spots for educational distribution sessions are reserved for families who meet the federal poverty guidelines or are on some type of governmental assistance (such as Medicaid or SNAP).

For the health and safety of our patients, families, staff and community, we have instituted a temporary restriction on all Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital meetings and events while coronavirus (COVID-19) is present in Florida. Effective immediately, external meetings and events are canceled until further notice. This includes car seat classes and checks. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your flexibility and understanding.

One of the best ways to protect a child traveling in a vehicle is a properly used car seat.

Car seats have been shown to reduce injuries and fatalities during a crash. However, selecting and using the right seat can be a challenge. Each time we visit a car seat aisle, we find an array of options. Car seat experts say that the best car seat is the one that fits your child, fits your car and you are able to use it correctly every time - and our classes and checks are here to assist you.

Additionally, parents and caregivers now have an access to an electronic guide to help them select the correct seat for their child and provide safety tips about car seat use.

The Ultimate Car Seat Guide provides helpful tips to give parents and caregivers details on what they need to know to keep children safe while riding in vehicles.
