Background
Dr. Alfaro specializes in general pediatrics in the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Department of Pediatric Medicine. She joined the hospital staff in 2021.
Previously, she worked as a pediatrician at Pediatric Associates of Tampa Bay as well as at Tampa General Hospital. In addition to practicing as a pediatrician, she started and ran her own practice, My Tampa Bay Pediatrics.
Dr. Alfaro earned her medical degree from Central University of Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela. She completed her first pediatric residency at Miguel Pérez Carreño General Hospital in Caracas, Venezuela, followed by a second pediatric residency at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she was chief resident and a clinical instructor.
Dr. Alfaro has served as an investigator on numerous clinical trials related to vaccine development. Her clinical interests include children with special needs, medical education and methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus.
