Dr. Borrero-Mejias is a board-certified child neurologist in the Johns Hopkins All Children's Institute for Brain Protection Sciences. She joined the hospital staff in 2021. Her clinical expertise includes pediatric headache, epilepsy and tic disorders. She also serves as program director of the Johns Hopkins All Children's Child Neurology Residency program.
Dr. Borrero-Mejias sees patients at our main campus in St. Petersburg and at our Outpatient Care locations in Tampa and Brandon.
Before joining the hospital, she served as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. She was also a child neurologist at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Phoenix, where she mentored medical students, residents and fellows.
Dr. Borrero-Mejias earned her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe, School of Medicine in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. She completed a pediatric residency at the University of Puerto Rico-School of Medicine in San Juan, Puerto Rico, followed by a pediatric neurology residency at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and St Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.
