Dr. Zozobrado specializes in neonatology with the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Maternal, Fetal & Neonatal Institute. He joined the hospital staff in 2020, and sees patients at Bayfront Health Port Charlotte, through an affiliation with Johns Hopkins All Children’s.
He was most recently the chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, Arizona, where he also served as medical director of the neonatal intensive care unit.
Dr. Zozobrado earned his medical degree from University of the Visayas Gullas College of Medicine in Cebu City, Philippines. He completed a pediatric residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey, where he also served as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in newborn medicine at Washington University School of Medicine – St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.
He also completed advanced studies in cardiovascular pathophysiology at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston.
His research interests include surfactant metabolism studies using stable isotopes, and he is currently pursuing research studies in inflammatory responses in hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.
