Dr. Gillis is a physician in the Genetics Program at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She joined the medical staff in 2019.
She was previously director of medical genetics and metabolism at Valley Children’s Healthcare in Madera, California. She has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications in clinical genetics and metabolism, and has been invited to give presentations nationally and internationally.
Throughout her career she has been extensively involved in medical education, and served as assistant professor of pediatrics and medicine and director of post-graduate education for medical genetics, including curriculum development and accreditation, at IWK Health Centre and Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Dr. Gillis earned her medical degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She completed her residency in medical genetics at the University of Toronto/Hospital for Sick Children.
