Dr. Betensky is a pedatric hematologist who specializes in hemostasis and thrombosis in the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute and serves as medical director of the hospital's International Patient Services program in St. Petersburg, Florida. She also treats bone marrow failure syndromes and congenital and acquired neutropenias, which are immune system conditions that may result in infections.

Dr. Betensky, a native of Mexico, has worked to provide medical education and build capacity of hematology programs in Africa and Latin America and helped develop research projects in Latin America. She participates in international conferences to foster clinical relationships with children’s health providers around the globe.

She joined Johns Hopkins All Children's in 2016. Previously, she was an instructor in the Division of Hematology, Comprehensive Bone Marrow Failure Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Betensky earned her medical degree at Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City, Mexico and her masters of public health in maternal and child health at Boston University School of Public Health. She completed her pediatric residency and fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
