In 2012, Dr. Goldenberg completed a five-year Career Development Award from the NIH/National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute for clinical investigation in pediatric thrombosis. He has held additional research grants from the American Society of Hematology, the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Research Society and the National Hemophilia Foundation. He is the principal investigator, steering committee chair or data and safety monitoring committee chair for several NIH- and industry-sponsored multicenter clinical trials, and has co-authored international clinical and clinical research guidelines.

Dr. Goldenberg is director of the pediatric thrombosis program at JHACH and is co-director of the pediatric stroke program. He also leads the Prospective Multicenter Evaluation of the Duration of Therapy for Thrombosis in Children (known as KIDS-DOTT), a study that involves more than two dozen medical institutions.
