Our Heart Institute team treats children for the full range of pediatric cardiac conditions, from common to complex, and provide diagnostic services, including pediatric echocardiograms, EKGs and Holter remote monitoring.

For children who may need heart surgery or interventional cardiology services, which are performed at our main hospital location in St. Petersburg, we work closely with the heart surgery and interventional cardiology teams to create a treatment plan that meets your child’s needs.

For children who require any inpatient care, our team works to make our patients’ transition from inpatient care at their hospital to outpatient care seamless. Our physicians also provide care at a number of hospitals in the community including Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, Manatee Memorial Hospital and Bayfront Health Port Charlotte, as part of our affiliations with these institutions.

Appointments in Sarasota are available five days per week. Appointments in North Port are available on Tuesdays and Fridays. You can also request an appointment using the online appointment request form. A member of the team will contact you to schedule your child's appointment.

Meet Our Cardiologists

Joelle Miller, MD

Cardiology - Pediatric

Dr. Miller is a pediatric cardiologist for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She sees patients at outpatient care centers in North Port and Fort Myers. Dr. Miller earned her medical degree at the University of Florida and completed her pediatric internship at Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville. She completed a pediatrics residency at the University of Miami at Jackson Memorial Hospital, serving as co-chief resident. She also completed a pediatric cardiology fellowship at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Michelle Miller, M.D.

Cardiology - Pediatric

Dr. Miller specializes in pediatric cardiology, focusing on fetal and adult congenital heart disease, with a particular focus in fetal medicine. She works closely with prenatal practitioners throughout the area to offer safe, well-planned pregnancies and deliveries and educates local pediatric caregivers and community hospitals in caring for children and pregnant women with cardiac issues.
