Visitor Information

Learn more about our guidelines for visitors to patients at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital.

Visitation Policy Notice
For the health and safety of our patients while coronavirus (COVID-19) is present in Florida, we are limiting visitors in the inpatient, outpatient and emergency center settings. Please see our COVID-19 Resources page for detailed information on our current visitation policy.

COVID-19 Resources

Visits from families and friends can play a powerful supportive role in the recovery of our patients. It is important, however, to follow visitation guidelines to ensure the safety of your loved one and all patients throughout the hospital.

Visiting Hours:

Visiting hours can vary depending upon which unit is being visited. Please ask about specific hours and restrictions in the unit where the child is staying.

Visiting Guidelines:

  • All visitors must present a form of government-issued photo identification (e.g. license, passport) to hospital check-in desks in order to visit patients. Any exceptions will need to be approved by Security and Clinical Leadership.
  • In order to protect our children, please do not visit if you are sick. Germs can be spread by direct human touch or by air. We encourage you to stay at home if you have symptoms of sneezing, coughing, fever, or any other symptom common to a cold, flu or other virus.
  • Please be respectful when using your cell phone. Please refrain from taking photos or video recordings unless all individuals in the photo/video (including hospital staff) consent to being recorded. Florida law requires all parties must consent to any recording.
  • Johns Hopkins All Children's is a smoke-free campus. For the safety and health of our patients, families, staff and visitors, smoking is prohibited on our property. This includes buildings, parking lots and garages.
  • While unforeseen circumstances may lead to changes in our visitor policy, patients are always permitted to have at least one care partner with them during their hospital stay or appointment. For patients under the age of 18, this may be a parent/guardian or an adult designated by the patient’s parent/guardian. Patients over 18, including adult patients in areas such as fetal care, OB-GYN, etc., may designate their own care partner.
If our visitor policies require changes due to unforeseen circumstances, these changes will be communicated to our patient families and visitors in a timely manner.
