Parents, no matter where they are in the world, want the best for their children. We know it can be stressful to have a child who needs expert medical care, and we’re here to help. The International Patient Services Program at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, provides a one-of-a-kind medical concierge experience. We assign each international patient family a dedicated care coordinator who provides personal assistance and facilitates arrangements for your child to access the expertise and resources of Johns Hopkins Medicine — a world-renowned health care provider.

Our team is dedicated to combining your child’s medical needs, your family’s individual preferences, and your cultural, linguistic and religious expectations to provide truly comprehensive care that makes Johns Hopkins All Children’s feel as close to home as possible. We also can advise you on accessing the many amenities of central Florida.

Once our department receives all the patient’s necessary documentation, the patient care coordinator will personally finalize all arrangements, including appointment scheduling, confirmation and pre-registration. Our financial coordinators also assist the families with financial assessment and clearance. When the families arrive at Johns Hopkins All Children’s they will experience a streamlined, stress-free admission process.

Brain and Spinal Cord Surgery

Physician-in-chief George Jallo, M.D., has performed neurosurgery on patients from around the world, including Australia, Brazil, Guatemala and the Middle East. We have one of the largest teams of pediatric neurosurgery specialists in Florida with expertise in a comprehensive array of brain and spinal cord care, including childhood neuro-oncology.

We provide comprehensive care for childhood cancer and blood disorders, including rare conditions not commonly treated at other centers. We offer expertise in bone marrow transplant techniques that improve outcomes for children with leukemia and lymphoma. We were also the first children’s hospital in Florida certified to offer CAR T-cell therapy

Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia

We founded the first inpatient center in the United States dedicated solely to the treatment of congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). Infants treated by David Kays, M.D., and the team at Johns Hopkins All Children’s experience a survival rate greater than 90% in most cases, which exceeds national benchmarks. Our team has experience with treating congenital heart defects (CHDs) from infants into adulthood. Our Fetal Heart Program assists in diagnosing CHDs before babies are born and can develop an individualized treatment plan for each child. Newborn and Fetal Care

Our team has experience providing medical transport for dozens of high-risk pregnant women and newborns, to bring them to the expert care at Johns Hopkins All Children’s. We treat more than 100 low and extremely low birth weight babies each year in our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), which has a Level IV ranking, the highest available from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Our neonatology team can call on our CDH, Fetal Heart, Intestinal Rehabilitation and other teams for whatever your baby needs.

We provide a comprehensive sports medicine program with expertise in a range of childhood sports injuries and orthopaedic procedures. We also are the exclusive provider of sports medicine and general and mental health services at IMG Academy, an international boarding school based in Bradenton, Florida. IMG is a leader in education, training and professional development for young athletes. The health services team onsite includes pediatric sports medicine specialists, nurses and physical therapists
