Sylvia Ameen serves as vice president, marketing, communications and culture for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. In her role, Ameen is responsible for the oversight of all marketing and communications operations at the hospital, including internal hospital communications to employees and physicians as well as external marketing strategy. Her purview includes all marketing strategies, media relations, creative development, crisis communications, internal and external communications, hospital events, brand use, culture and employee engagement. Vice President, Government and Community Affairs

Kimberly Berfield joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital as vice president, government and community affairs, in February 2017. A veteran expert in collaborative strategies in all aspects of government affairs, public policy and community initiatives, she is helping Johns Hopkins All Children’s fulfill its mission of providing child health through treatment, education, advocacy and research to children locally and beyond. Dr. Colombani chairs the Department of Surgery at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital and is guiding the growth of clinical research, education and expertise in multiple pediatric surgical subspecialties. Marcos DeLeon joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in June 2015 as vice president, human resources. Director of Research and Chief Research Officer

Dr. Goldenberg was named director of research at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in July 2012 as well as chief research officer of the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Research Institute and director of the new Clinical and Translational Research Organization at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Derek Hess, M.D.
Chief of Staff

Dr. Hess, a pediatric ophthalmologist, became chief of the medical staff in January 2017 after a one-year term as vice chief. Dr. Hess also chaired the medical staff’s Medical Care Evaluation Committee in 2016. He joined the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital medical staff in 2004.  Read more >>

Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer

Melissa Macogay, MBA, BSN, RN, CCRN-K, NE-BC is vice president and chief nursing officer for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.

A registered nurse for more than 19 years, Macogay started as a nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s in 2008 and served in multiple roles including interim chief nursing officer, director of the PICU, surgical neuroscience unit and dialysis as well as senior director of nursing for the Institute for Brain Protection Sciences. Read more >>

 
 

John McLendon
Vice President, Chief Information Officer

John McLendon joined John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in July 2016 as vice president and chief information officer. He is responsible for oversight of all Information Technology (IT) services across Johns Hopkins All Children’s providing leadership and IT support of the clinical, research, academic and administrative functions of the enterprise. In this role, he is responsible for implementing the IT strategic plan, enhancing clinical network integration, and deploying an enterprise data warehouse to support the organization’s health informatics, analytics and population health initiatives, and optimizing the electronic health record (EHR) to help ensure the highest quality, safest care is delivered to all patients. Vice President, Medical Affairs and Chief Patient Safety Officer

Dr. Brigitta Mueller joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in September 2013 as vice president for medical affairs and chief patient safety officer. She works closely with other hospital leaders, physicians and staff on a wide range of quality and patient safety initiatives and oversight. Dr. Mueller is a professor of pediatrics (PAR) in hematology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Steve Pozefsky serves as Senior Counsel for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. A member of the leadership team, Pozefsky provides legal counsel for the hospital, oversees the privacy and accreditation divisions, and manages contract work in support of the hospital’s treatment and academic mission.
