Christopher Whitby became interim chief financial officer at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in September 2017. He joined the hospital staff as senior director of finance in April 2016. In his role, Whitby supports the hospital mission by strategically leading and overseeing the financial areas of the non-profit health system, including financial reporting, revenue cycle, managed care, decision support, reimbursement, treasury, taxation, budgeting and forecasting.
Whitby develops and presents financial performance and initiative updates to the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Foundation Boards of Trustees, committees and leadership and management councils. He directed and provided oversight to the update of the hospital’s 10-year financial plan.
Whitby previously worked in accounting positions at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., Micros Systems in Columbia, Maryland, and Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Maryland.
