Vice President, Government and Community Affairs

Kimberly Berfield joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital as vice president, government and community affairs, in February 2017. A veteran expert in collaborative strategies in all aspects of government affairs, public policy and community initiatives, she is helping Johns Hopkins All Children’s fulfill its mission of providing child health through treatment, education, advocacy and research to children locally and beyond.

Berfield leads mission-based community initiatives at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, including Safe Kids, Healthy Start and Fit4Allkids program. She facilitates collaborations to lead and address community health needs and grow hospital and community-based volunteer programs. She serves as a strong advocate for child health issues in Tallahassee on both the legislative and regulatory fronts.

Berfield served as Deputy of Secretary of the Florida Department of Health from 2007 to 2012, having previously been a member of Florida House of Representatives for four terms. Following her work for the state of Florida, she served on senior management teams at Wellcare Health Plans and Primerica, where she developed and implemented business strategies and built and maintained collaborative community relationships.
