The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) playroom located on the 5th floor is a multi-sensory room that includes Interactive Bubble Tubes, fiber-optic light spray set, milky way carpet, shimmering light curtain, sound-response light panel, speed of light panel, Snoezelen Solar Projector and a Somatron Multi-sensory play floor.
Cancer patients will have their own dedicated playroom with activities for all ages. The playroom is located on the 7th floor in the hematology/oncology/bone marrow transplant area, with positive air pressure that helps prevent germs from entering. The room will feature interactive bubble tubes, dramatic play corner, air hockey game, craft table, Touch-To-Play Game System, Jukebox, and a digital piano.
Another 7th floor playroom is focused on older school aged children and teens. This room will feature a Touch To Play Game System, Digital Piano, Juke Box, Pool Table, Plasma TV and Craft area.
The 8th floor playroom is focused on infants, toddlers, preschoolers and young school aged children. This room features a dramatic play area, climbing structure, interactive bubble tubes, craft table, infant mats and free play toys.
The School Room is also located on the 8th floor. Schoolwork can take place either in this room or at the bedside. Music Therapy takes place in any of the playrooms or in individual patient rooms.
