Our mission is a hybrid of both Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital: To provide leadership in child health through treatment, education, advocacy and research; and, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine: to identify and solve fundamental questions in the mechanisms, prevention and treatment of disease, in health care delivery and in the basic sciences.
In addition to the fundamental organizational missions, the CRIB/MDC's mission is to act as a focal point and resource for the free exchange of knowledge, method development, sharing of experience, strengthening of intra- and inter-institutional collaborations in “omics” technologies, and fostering interactions with industry and leaders in the field of integrative biology.
The goals of the CRIB have been developed to recognize the spirit of the initial commitment from industry and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital to build knowledge, develop skills, and make a positive contribution to society. In the initial phase of operation, an emphasis will be placed upon metabolomics and lipidomics research. Phase II will involve the addition of quantitative proteomics offerings. Phase III will involve limited offerings in clinical chemistry.
