Dr. Almodovar is a pediatric cardiologist and cardiac intensivist. He is from Boston Children’s Hospital, where he was medical director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Department of Cardiology and assistant professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.
A graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine, Dr. Almodóvar completed a pediatrics internship and residency followed by categorical fellowship training in pediatric cardiology at Boston Children’s. After completing a senior clinical fellowship in cardiac intensive care medicine in 1999, he became an attending physician and assistant director, Cardiac ICU at Boston Children’s. In 2003, Dr. Almodóvar was appointed director of cardiac intensive care at Denver Children’s Hospital and in 2006 he returned to Boston Children’s as medical director of the Cardiac ICU, one of the world’s largest and most active pediatric and congenital heart disease-focused cardiac ICUs.
