Dr. Zambrano specializes in genetics in the Department of Pediatric Medicine. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Medical Genetics, a member of the American College of Medical Genetics and the American Society of Human Genetics.
Previously, Dr. Zambrano was an assistant professor of pediatrics and at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, and a member of the genetics program and ethics committee at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans. Following a pediatric residency at LSU Health Sciences Center, where she received the Gretchen Life, M.D. Award, Dr. Zambrano completed a genetic medicine residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, and then served as a genetic medicine postdoctoral fellow in the Valle Lab at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. She is an honors graduate of the Universidad del Norte School of Medicine in Barranquilla, Colombia.
