Occupational Therapy

We work with affiliated universities to provide fieldwork experiences for graduate-level occupational therapy students.

The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Occupational Therapy (OT) program is affiliated with several in-state and out-of-state universities to provide graduate-level pediatric OT field work experiences. On average, we accept 8-10 OT students each year for their Level II B fieldwork or doctoral residency placement.

These placements are coordinated directly between the affiliated university’s academic fieldwork coordinator and the Johns Hopkins All Children’s OT regional managers.

Program details:

  • Students often secure a rotation slot one year in advance.
  • Prospective students must complete an application and a phone interview before acceptance to the program.
  • Accepted students will receive a welcome email one to two months before their start date outlining important dates and fieldwork information, and instructions for submitting proof of immunizations.

Please note that housing is not offered by the hospital. Students are responsible for securing their own housing during the three- to four-month-long fieldwork rotation.

Opportunities for certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) fieldwork placements are handled on a case-by-case basis. For questions about COTA fieldwork opportunities, please send an email to [email protected].
