Bobbi Jo Hopkins, M.D.

Bobbi Jo Hopkins, M.D.

Bobbi Hopkins, M.D. is the medical director of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Sleep Center and is also part-time faculty at John’s Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Hopkins completed medical school at the University of Missouri—Columbia where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her pediatric, child neurology and sleep medicine fellowships at Baylor College of Medicine. As an assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine, she helped develop the Children’s Sleep Center CPAP compliance program and Hypersomnia Specialty Clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital. She is dual board certified in both Sleep Medicine and Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology. She has a strong background in sleep education as faculty at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas and serves nationally on the Lifelong Learning Committee for the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Hopkins cares for all children with sleep disorders ranging from obstructive sleep apnea to nocturnal epilepsy. She has published articles on parasomnias and sleep disorders in medical conditions. She has worked extensively with children with complex medical disorders improving sleep for both patients and their families.

Luis Ortiz, M.D. Pulmonology

Dr. Ortiz is a physician in the Sleep Center at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. He joined the medical staff in 2018. He sees patients at the main campus in St. Petersburg, Florida, as well as at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Outpatient Care, East Lake. His clinical interests include narcolepsy, hypersomnia, obstructive sleep apnea, and care for the technology dependent child. His research interests include examining the interaction of sleep disorders on chronic pediatric diseases such bronchopulmonary dysphasia, asthma, and developmental delay. Dr. Ortiz earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester. He completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the Charleston Area Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He then completed a fellowship in sleep medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Bridget Kennedy, MSN, ARNP, CPNP-PC

Bridget Kennedy, MSN, ARNP, CPNP-PC

Bridget Kennedy is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) who practices in pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine. Her areas of focus are patient care, health care education, research, administrative compliance and leadership. Bridget previously worked for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital as a registered nurse from 2003-14 on the pediatric subspecialty unit. During this time, she pursued her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of South Florida. She returned to the hospital in 2017 to focus on pulmonology patients, with particular interest in Cystic Fibrosis and asthma. Her previous ARNP experience has been in pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine, as well as an adjunct clinical pediatric instructor for Utica College of Nursing. She is board certified as a Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner.
