The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Pediatric Psychiatry Program treats children and teens with a variety of mental health problems, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, psychoses, eating disorders and behavioral problems. Services include new patient evaluation, medication management, and psychotherapeutic evaluation and management. 

Our program is part of All Children's Specialty Physicians, a group of specialists here at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. Johns Hopkins All Children's is a leading center for pediatric treatment, education and research.

About Our Practice

Our services include: new patient evaluations, medication management, counseling, psycho-educational testing, and pharmacotherapy with evaluation and management. Hospital services are provided only at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital and must be requested by another physician. Johns Hopkins All Children's does not have an inpatient psychiatric unit.

We provide evaluation and treatment for a variety of conditions, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, psychoses, eating disorders and behavior problems.

We see new patients from age four years through their seventeenth birthday. Patients will be transitioned to an adult psychiatrist at 18 years of age. We do not accept new patients at 17 years and older.

It is important to your child's care to have follow-up visits with the same physician who did the initial evaluation. We will not change your child's physician during the course of treatment.

Medical Records

A records release form must be signed for each individual (including parents & legal guardians) or facility that you want to receive your child's medical records. This includes his or her primary care doctor. Only records for care provided in this office will be released. Records that are sent to our office are for reference purposes only and will not be released. If you need records copied, please give our office as much advance notice as possible. Please note that there may be a charge for your child's records. All records are distributed via Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital's Health Information Management Department via postal mail; we do not fax records.

Please Note:

  • New patients who miss the first appointment will NOT be rescheduled.
  • Established patients who miss three appointments without notice ("no show") and/or frequently cancel will be discharged from the practice.
  • New patients who arrive 10 minutes late will need to reschedule.
  • Established patients who arrive five minutes late will need to reschedule.
  • This policy includes late arrivals due to bad weather and traffic accidents and delays.
  • If the physician's schedule is delayed, every effort will be made to see the patient as close to the appointment time as possible.

Please let us know about any address, telephone or insurance changes as soon as possible. If your insurance changes, please call the office to check that our physicians are participating with your new insurance plan.

Most mental health plans require that a parent call to get an authorization for the first visit (new or follow-up) in order to be paid under the plan. Authorizations must be obtained before you arrive for the first appointment.

Telephone Calls

Telephone hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. When you call the office during regular hours, you will need to leave a message for your child's physician. The physicians try to answer simple questions and approve prescription refills between appointments. Calls are usually returned at the end of the day.

Please limit calls to immediate medication questions, possible drug reactions or psychiatric emergencies.

You should schedule an office visit if there are other issues you want to discuss. If you have an urgent problem or a psychiatric emergency during regular office hours that can't wait for a return phone call, consider calling 911 for immediate assistance.

A physician is on call for psychiatric emergencies during nights and weekends. When you dial our office telephone number you will be transferred to our answering service.

Prescription and Refills

Routine prescriptions and refills are handled only during regular office hours. Please allow 48 hours to complete refill requests. When you call for a refill, please give the name of the medication, the dosage, the number of pills, the phone number for your pharmacy or your mailing address for us to mail you a prescription.

Some medications, by law, cannot be called in to a pharmacy. You will need a written prescription. In this case you need to either pick up the prescription or request it be mailed to you.

Please allow one-week delivery time by mail.


Co-payments and outstanding balances are due at the time of your visit. Cash, personal checks and major credit cards are accepted. Please call us if you have any questions.
